MMA Announcement: Rousey Will Return at UFC 207 in December by Kristine Haugsjaa October 12, 2016 Photo Credit: ESPN.com Well, who ever thought this day would come? UFC President Dana White confirmed on FOX Sports 1’s The Herd Wednesday afternoon that former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will be making her return to the octagon at UFC 207 on December 30th in Las Vegas, where she will be facing current champion Amanda Nunes for the title. Rousey dipped out of the spotlight following her KO loss to former champion Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November. As the months went on and Rousey announced more movie projects, it became doubtful that the former undefeated champion was going to make her way back to the octagon soon, if at all. It seems as though as the belt began to change waists starting with Holm losing the strap to Rousey’s ultimate rival Miesha Tate at UFC 196 in March, the possibily of Rousey returning seemed likely. Once Tate lost the title against current champ Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 in July, it seemed almost certain the ‘Rowdy’ one was coming back. The 5-round title match will headline the end of the year card for the promotion. Now the question lies, IF Rousey defeats Nunes, does these lead to the ‘Cyborg’ superfight?
