FootballBest/Worst moments of Super Bowl LIV by Chris Passarelli February 3, 2020 Super Bowl LIV was one for the ages. After the San Francisco 49ers took a commanding 20-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs came storming back to win the game 31-20. There were many highs and lows throughout the game, and although it wasn’t necessarily a Super Bowl classic, it was a very entertaining game and a great way to celebrate 100 years in the NFL. Let’s take a look at the two best and worst moments of Sunday’s game.Best – 3rd and 15The play of the game in Super Bowl LIV was a play that the stout 49ers’ defense had rarely given up this season. With just seven minutes to go in the game and the Chiefs’ backs against the wall, Patrick Mahomes was able to find Tyreek Hill for a first down. From there they went on to score 21 unanswered points, including two Damien Williams’ touchdowns. The 49ers haven’t given up any big plays this season, so the Hill first down, the big Sammy Watkins catch in the fourth quarter and the Williams touchdown run to seal the game was shocking to say the least.Worst – Anyone who had 4,0 Super Bowl boxesAll Damien Williams had to do was lay down inbounds after getting the first down. Instead, he ran for 38 yards and scored a garbage time touchdown. For anyone who had 4,0 in their Super Bowl boxes, it must have been a hard thing to recover from. What was so funny is that Williams didn’t have to do anything at all. He could have just kneeled down and called it a game. 24-20 would have been the final score and everyone would have went home happy, including people who had Chiefs -1. Instead, there was another score change and the Chiefs won by 11.Best – Shakira and J Lo turning back the clockThe Super Bowl LIV halftime show was one for the ages. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, two legends of the music game, teamed up to put on a hell of a show. Shakira started the show with some of her hits, including “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Waka Waka”. Shakira looked like she had trained for months leading up to the big performance, because she was barely breaking a sweat despite a half hour of dancing.Jennifer Lopez finished off the show with an incredible display of athleticism and some of her hit songs, including “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” and “Jenny From The Block”. The performance was full of life, flavor and some added Miami flair. It was a great halftime show overall.Worst – Jimmy G and the missed throwJimmy Garoppolo didn’t play particularly well in Super Bowl LIV, but he wasn’t the sole reason why the Niners blew a 20-10 lead in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. However, his two interceptions and general inability to move the ball down the field didn’t help anything. However, the one play that may haunt Niner fans for years was with just under two minutes left in the game. Jimmy Garoppolo had the game in his hands with the Niners down 24-20. Emmanuel Sanders streaked down the middle of the field and was wide open. Jimmy G pump faked and threw a bomb, a bomb that was about seven yards too long for Sanders. Had Garoppolo dropped that in there, Sanders would have scored and history would have been rewritten.
