After previously being in the works for December 10th, the WBA Middleweight title unification bout between Danny “The Miracle Man” Jacobs and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin has officially been announced to take place at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 on HBO PPV.

The official match up was announced on Saturday, just days away from Monday’s scheduled WBA-ordered purse bid if a date was not set prior.

Jacobs (32-1, 29KOs) is the WBA secondary titlist in the middleweight division. Undefeated Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) is the promotions middleweight champion, requiring him to be Jacob’s next opponent to unify the belts. Golovkin will also be putting his IBF and WBC Middleweight belts on the line for the March bout.

A native of Brownsville, Brooklyn, Jacobs fought the toughest battle in his 29 years back in 2011 when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a life-threatening form of bone cancer. Two years later in 2013, he was declared cancer-free.

Tickets for the unification bout go on sale Christmas Eve (this Saturday) at Noon on Ticketmaster or the Madison Square Garden box office. Ticket prices range from $100-$1,000.
