Cespedes homers in his second at-bat coming off the DL v. Yankees

After only playing in two rehab games, Cespedes returns to the main roster with a bang

It did not take long for Yoenis Cespedes to get back into a groove in his first game in over two months.

After flying out in the first inning, the 32-year old made Domingo German pay, cranking a solo home run off the left-field pole at Yankee Stadium. At that time, it gave the Mets a 4-0 lead over the Yankees with Noah Syndergaard on the mound.

Suffering from a right hip flexor strain, Cespedes returned to a Mets team well out of playoff contention. It is unknown if his legs will hold on, but extra rest will help. Manager Mickey Callaway was not against sitting him if the team is winning or losing by a substantial amount.
