Chief Photographer, Catalina Fragoso, Named 2015 Double G Sports Staff Member of the Year

Double G Media, LLC announced the winners of the 2015 Double G Sports Awards earlier this week. Most of the awards are handed out to local teams and athletes for their accomplishments throughout the 2015 calendar year. There is one award handed out yearly to one staff member that makes a big impact on the company and website.

This year, Catalina Fragoso, had been voted the Double G Sports Staff Member of the Year. Voting was done by team members at DoubleGSports.com.

Fragoso, joined the team around mid-2015. Immediately, her work ethic and enthusiasm rubbed off on many other team members. Not long after joining Double G Media, Fragoso was named the staff’s Chief Photographer.

Taking on this role meant Catalina would not only be photographing games and events, but she would now also be part of the management team. Fragoso took on the role of leading the staff’s photographers and has not wavered since.

Fragoso has developed a program which has helped the photographers on staff to cover more events and communicate more regularly with writers and other individuals in management. She has also helped recruit more photographers to the team.

Catalina has also covered many games and events throughout the year. She has become not only a leader with photographers, but continues to take on more and more responsibility with Double G Media.

Other nominees this year were Jayson Love (Managing Editor), Sarah Holzberg (New York Islanders Lead Writer), and Steven Simineri (Staff Writer). Past winners of this award are Matt Kardos in 2013 and Sam Mines in 2014.
