Connecticut Whale Re-Sign Jordan Brickner

The Connecticut Whale announced on Wednesday that they resigned Jordan Brickner for the 2016-2017 National Women’s Hockey League season.

Lisa Giovanelli, general manager of the Whale in announced that the deal is 17,500 dollars for the season.

Giovanelli said, “The Connecticut Whale is very excited to have Jordan returning for the 2016-2017 season. She was one of our most consistent defensemen who rarely got beat on a one-on-one. We expect Jordan to build on her experiences in her first season and to continue to be a leader in our defensive group. Off the ice, she has great character and we hope to have her take on more of a leadership role in the locker room.”

In 18 games this past season, she picked up 12 assists for the Whale. She appeared in all three of the team’s postseason games last year.

The defenseman from Lake Forest, Illinois played collegiately for Colgate University and the University of Wisconsin.

Brickner said, “I am so happy to have another season with the Whale. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to continue playing the game that I love most. I hope to build off of the success our team experienced last season and continue helping the growth of the league. I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
