Besides Chris Weidman, how many guys can you name that knocked out Anderson Silva?

I can name just one, Vinicius De Jesus.

Ok, maybe it was a different Anderson Silva (if you want to get technical) but with over 75,000 views on the YouTube clip (shown below) of the first round knockout, DeJesus can confidently list the highlight reel worthy clip on his mixed martial arts resume.

What else can “The Brazilian Bad Boy” add to the list? A 4-1 professional MMA record, a 1st degree black belt, countless grappling tournaments, an undefeated 10-0 amateur boxing career and now his debut in the Bellator Cage at Bellator 163: McGeary vs. Davis at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on November 4th.

“It’s f***ing great,” De Jesus laughs. “Definitely because I didn’t expect it. I’ve been working this year and I figured a little next year for the smaller promoters or other promoters to get a better record, then get a call from UFC or Bellator maybe next year so this call this early was a nice surprise for us. We’re very focused right now.”

De Jesus, who is undefeated in his last three fights with Massachusetts based fight promotion, Premier FC will face undefeated welterweight James Boran (6-0 MMA), who has not stepped foot in a cage since 2011. The five year lay-off for his opponent is taken into account but will not make him under estimate.

“This is a strong affect against him because he doesn’t have the body conditioning for the fight but I don’t think [about it] that much,” explains De Jesus. “I think he’ll be another opponent for me and be ready for anything like me.”

With fight camp coming to a close and weigh in days away, the Brazilian welterweight is feeling confident in the outcome of the three round prelim fight.

“As I always like to say, always make this camp better than the last one. This will be the best Vinicius in the cage.”

Tune into the Bellator 163 prelims at 6:50pm, followed by the main card at 9pm. Both airing on SpikeTV.
