MMA Conor McGregor had quite a day in Brooklyn, two days before UFC 223 It was a wild scene at the Barclays Center today, as Conor McGregor created a panic with only a few days until UFC 223 by Daniel Yanofsky April 5, 2018 If you thought the biggest news before UFC 223 would be Max Holloway replacing Tony Ferguson in the main event, think again. After UFC Media Day at the Barclays Center today, Conor McGregor made his presence known. The end result? Pure and utter chaos. McGregor, not scheduled for the event, showed up and was immediately looking for a fight. He went through security and managed to damage a bus filled with several fighters scheduled for UFC 223 on Saturday. You can hear the panic in the voices of several fighters. httpss://twitter.com/jrsvx/status/981960460323848192 httpss://twitter.com/Grabaka_Hitman/status/981984469052739584 It was reported that Michael Chiesa, set for a fight against Anthony Pettis, ended up with lacerations on his face. Several fighters, including Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas, were shaken up after the whole ordeal. This has nothing to do with Dana White stating that Conor would be been stripped of his Lightweight Title. It appears this all stems from contender Khabib Nurmagomedov confronting McGregor’s friend and teammate Artem Lobov with a group of his people. For the first time in a long time, Conor decided to “attend” an event held by the UFC and get what he thought was retribution. Attempting to help out a friend is one thing, but frightening and getting other fighters involved in your drama is some next level nonsense. Conor reportedly fled the Barclays Center with a group of his people. Members of TheMacLife.com team let him and about 20 people into the building. This isn’t the first time Conor has caused drama outside of the cage. A few months ago, he tried to fight an official after storming the cage at a Bellator event. He was celebrating a teammates victory, before he lost it. McGregor also has a history of getting into bar fights. For the first time since joining the UFC, Dana White was furious at McGregor’s actions. McGregor is considered Dana and the UFC’s guy; their Roman Reigns. It helps that WME-IMG, the company that bought the UFC, represents Conor. While he has done questionable things in the past, this might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. httpss://twitter.com/bokamotoESPN/status/981971880142934016 If Dana can stay true to his word on this, we can only imagine the lasting effects this incident will have on the career of Conor McGregor. Stay tuned for more information as it comes out. Post Views: 1,636 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc. Sports Editor.
