Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez Headlines UFC 205

On the eve of Tuesday night’s highly anticipated UFC 205 Press Conference at Madison Square Garden, MMA insider @TalkMMA tweeted out that the yet-to-be announced main event will be a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between Eddie Alvarez and UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

While rumors have been swirling as the Nov 12th card draws closer that the two-champions would meet in the Empire State, UFC President Dana White denied the match up on Twitter last week claiming Alvarez would be facing #1 Lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 206 in Toronto.

Although the official bout announcement has yet to be confirmed by the promotion, the presser Tuesday evening is scheduled to announce the remaining bout on the card, including the main event.

If the “Notorious” one defeats the 155-pound champion, he will be the first fighter in UFC history to hold world title belts in two weight classes at the same time.
