MMA Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson Confirmed for UFC 210 in Buffalo by Kristine Haugsjaa January 25, 2017 UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is set to face Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in a 5-round title bout at UFC 210 at the Key Bank Center in Buffalo, NY on April 8th. Cormier made the official announcement on FS1’s UFC Tonight Wednesday evening. Cormier (18-1) was originally set to face Johnson (22-5) as the main event for UFC 206 in December when Cormier had to withdraw due to injury. The two first met in the octagon at UFC 187 in May of 2015 after former LHW champion Jon Jones was stripped of his belt, leaving the 205-pound gold strap vacant. Cormier defeated Johnson via third round submission. Rumors of the rematch leaked last week on Chael Sonnen’s podcast You’re Welcome. Other rumored bouts include Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway for the UFC Featherweight unification championship and Frankie Edgar vs. Ricardo Lamas in a three-round featherweight bout. The first confirmed match up for the UFC’s second visit to Buffalo since 1995, a three-round bout between former UFC Middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Gegard Mousasi, was announced last week.
