Overtime, Episode 21: David Wells and friends celebrate 20th Anniversary of Perfect Game (Video)

The David Wells Perfect Game 20th Anniversary Celebration took place on May 17, 2018 in Sony Hall, New York City.

On the red carpet, Wells spoke about how great his catcher, Jorge Posada, was when it came to simply playing the game and not letting any nerves interfere.

“He just put the fingers down and I just went for the glove,” Wells said.

27 batters were fanned down on that Sunday afternoon against the Minnesota Twins, for the first regular season perfect game in Yankees history.

Jorge and Laura Posada, Mariano Rivera, Joe Torre, Willie Randolph, and David Cone were all there to celebrate along Wells’ side.

The dinner along with an auction and music, with proceeds set to benefit veterans via Wells and wife Nina’s Perfect 33 Foundation and to assist Jorge and Laura Posada’s Puerto Rico Relief Foundation.
