DDP (WWE.com) The newest member of the WWE Hall of Fame is Diamond Dallas Page. That’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing. Rolling Stone was the first to report the news. DDP was one of the first names rumored to get the call to the hall a while back. BANG! DDP has had quite a career, starting as a manager in the AWA in his 30’s. One of his early career highlights was driving The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine to the ring in a Cadillac at WrestleMania VI. Page would later become a high profile star in WCW. He won multiple titles with the company, including the WCW World Title three separate times. He truly gained the respect by fans everywhere when he refused to join the New World Order stable. His feud with “Macho Man” Randy Savage was one of his personal career highlights. They both won the 1997 Pro Wrestling Illustrated Feud of the Year as a result of the hard work they put into it. While his run with WWE wasn’t as good as everyone expected it to be, DDP still has a lot of fans from the WWE Universe. A WCW legend in the WWE Hall of Fame, DDP is beyond excited for the opportunity. Speaking to Rolling Stone, DDP explained how he felt before Raw went on the air tonight. He said: “I don’t know if you watch Stranger Things, but in that third episode, you got a chill through your whole body. It wasn’t goose bumps. You couldn’t control that. Bottom line is, work ethic equals dreams, and I am walking proof that that’s a fact. They had you give them an inscription for inside your ring. I wrote, “Work ethic = dreams!” His post-wrestling career is heralded by many. DDP has literally saved lives as the founder of DDP Yoga, most notably Scott Hall and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. To be inducted with his “students” and fellow WCW legend Sting must be a great moment for him. DDP will be joining a stacked 2017 class that includes Kurt Angle, Teddy Long and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. The “Master of the Diamond Cutter” will be immortalized before WrestleMania. I’m sure he will share an inspirational story or two. It will definitely be a moment worth remembering. The 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, March 31, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
