Vojtech Mozik, formerly of HC Skoda Plzen of the Czech Republic, is the newest member of the New Jersey Devils. General Manager Ray Shero made the announcement on Monday, June 15 that the team had come to terms on an entry-level contract with the 6’ 2’, 195 pound defender.

Mozik could be just what the Devils are looking for as an offensive defenseman. For Plzen in 2014-15 he scored 10 goals and tallied 19 assists for 29 points; all three were career highs. Mozik also notched a career high in penalty minutes as well, with 94.

In 157 games with Plzen and BK Mlada, Boleslav has 20 goals, 29 assists, and 186 penalty minutes. If Mozik can make his way into the Devils lineup he will only add to their already strong young group of defenseman and give them a little more offense from the position.
