College Drexel Men’s Basketball Heads into the Postseason Without Leading Scorer by Renee Washington March 7, 2015 By: Renee Washington Drexel Dragons Men’s Basketball team has finished the regular season at No. 7 in the CAA. They finished their last game with an upset win over No. 2 seed, UNC Wilmington 80-66. The impressive part, they were without their leading scorer and conference 1st team player, Damion Lee in the game. Lee was having a phenomenal season averaging 21.4 points when he broke his hand two weeks ago. Despite the loss of Lee, the dragons shortened their bench and played just six players against UNC Wilmington to get the win. Four of the six played all 40 minutes and three players, Freddie Wilson, Tavon Allen, and Rodney Williams led the Dragons with 24, 22, and 18 points respectively. Drexel looks to carry their momentum into the first round of the CAA tournament tonight against No. 10 Charleston at 8:30p.m. ET. The winner of tonight’s game will play UNC Wilmington tomorrow at 6p.m. ET in the second round.
