Basketball Enes Kanter Shining for the Knicks in Loss to Celtics by Andre Oge October 25, 2017 On Tuesday night the New York Knicks headed to TD Garden to take on the Boston Celtics. The Celtics simply proved to be too much to handle for the Knicks, with the final score being 110-89 in favor of Boston. A rather slow start to this season, the Knicks are still trying to find a way to gel as a team. It doesn’t help that Frank Ntilikina still has yet to fully integrate into the team due to injury. It is also counterproductive that Kristaps Porzingis was unable to find his offense against the Celtics, only scoring 12 points in the Knicks’ loss. New York did have a silver lining in this game, namely Enes Kanter and his incredible play. Despite falling to Boston, Enes Kanter made every attempt to keep his team in the game. Kanter scored 16 points for the Knicks and grabbed a game high 19 rebounds. His effort solidifies the fact that he is trying to win with New York. Since Kanter arrived at the Garden he has been churning out solid performances night after night. He often led the team in scoring throughout the preseason and has been a great help to Porzingis in the first two games of the regular season. This game, however, was all him. Even though the Knicks lost, fans can take solace in the fact that the organization picked up a great addition in the form of Kanter. Three games into the season the Knicks have had a rather rough start. New York has essentially hit the restart button, making time a huge factor in finding cohesion on the floor. Moving forward the Knicks will need to rely on their new additions, like Kanter, to build a winning record. Until then the team will need to be patient with themselves as they figure out how to play, and ultimately win, together.
