Football Enunwa out for season with neck injury by Chris Passarelli September 11, 2019 Quincy Enunwa can’t seem to catch any breaks (no pun intended) as his season ends early once again due to a lingering neck injury. The New York Jets’ wide receiver left Week 1’s game against the Buffalo Bills in the first quarter and returned only briefly before exiting for good. There were multiple tests run on Enunwa regarding the injury, and it was discovered by a team doctor that Enunwa had a severe enough neck injury to be ruled out for the entire season. Enunwa’s injury was speculated to be serious when the Jets traded a sixth round draft pick for Demaryius Thomas of the New England Patriots. It was the first trade made between the Jets and the Pats in the Bill Belichick era. Enunwa’s season-ending injury comes as a blow to the Jets’ wide receiving corps. Robbie Anderson has been dealing with a few lingering injuries, Thomas is brand new to the team and Jamison Crowder is still a relatively unproven receiver. It’s just another obstacle the Jets have to overcome in a season that seems to be heading down a dangerous path. A 16-0 blown lead isn’t the best way to start your season, and losing one of your top wide receivers in Week 1 is a bad sign of things to come.
