Eric LeGrand Named 2015 Inspirational Athlete of the Year

Year in and year out, former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand, continues to inspire millions of people around the world. LeGrand is a former defensive tackle for the Scarlet Knights who became paralyzed while making a tackle in an October 2010 game. Since that point, LeGrand has regained movement in his shoulders and sensation throughout his body. He continues to rehab and work hard in hopes of one day being able to walk again.

LeGrand, who has his No. 52 retired by Rutgers Athletics, has become of the most influential individuals not only at Rutgers, but throughout the country. His determination does not go unrecognized.

LeGrand has been named the Inspirational Athlete of the Year as part of the 2015 Double G Sports Awards, given out by Double G Media, LLC.

A fan favorite, and popular figure, LeGrand continues to be a well involved with Rutgers Athletics. The new football coaching staff has made it a point to keep LeGrand visable and involved in the program. New head coach Chris Ash told LeGrand after he was hired that he is always welcome in the building and around the program.
