Fireflies Drop Series Finale to Augusta

August, GA – The Fireflies traded jabs with the home team the Augusta Green Jackets but ultimately fell 7-3 as the only managed to win one of the three game series.

The Fireflies had red hot bats, as seven hitters got on base at least once, but they couldn’t produce enough runs to keep the team in the game. August took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth and never looked back giving their starter Cory Taylor the win and Fireflies starter Joe Shaw was credited with the loss.

The Fireflies return to Spirit Communications Park tomorrow to start a four-game homestead against the West Virginia Power. Chase Ingram takes the mound tomorrow (3-5, 5.03) for the Fireflies as he faces off against Gage Hinsz (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is schedule for 7:05 PM in Columbia as the Fireflies host a tribute to Prince Night.

You can watch the action on MiLB.TV or listen in on WGCV 620 AM, 105.1 and 96.3 FM (all three out of Columbia, SC), ColumbiaFireflies.com and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 7:00 p.m.
