Feature First LI Fighter Announced for UFC 208 in Brooklyn by Kristine Haugsjaa December 8, 2016 (Photo by Josh Hedges/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images) West Islip’s own UFC welterweight Ryan LaFlare posted on his Facebook page Thursday morning he will be facing Roan Carneiro at UFC 208 on February 11th at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. “ITS OFFICIAL!! I’ll be fighting for the first time ever professionally in my home state New York at UFC 208 February 11th vs Roan Carniero” – @RyanLaFlareMMA With tickets going on sale next Friday, Tri-State area fight fans are anxiously awaiting the roll out of bout announcements for the UFC’s first fight card at the Brooklyn arena. This will be the third fight card in New York since its legalization in March. LaFlare’s last appearance in the octagon was at The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber Finale last December where he earned an unanimous decision victory over Mike Pierce. UFC 208 was originally scheduled for Jan 21st at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA before the promotion moved the card to Brooklyn. Other rumored bouts include a light-heavyweight bout between Glover Teixeira vs. Jared Cannonier and a heavyweight bout between Luis Henrique vs. Marcin Tybura. No main event has been announced for the pay-per-view card at time of press.
