Pro Wrestling Five Reasons SummerSlam Is Really WrestleMania 32 by Jason Cordner August 5, 2016 What a time to be a wrestling fan. The WWE has seen the errors of Wrestlemania 32 and has completely changed course for the better. SummerSlam is less than a month away and the card is starting to take shape. With the brand split behind us, let’s take a closer look at my this year’s SummerSlam is really the real Wrestlemania 1. Brock Lesnar Vs Randy Orton : The beast vs the viper. These two ironically came out during the same time line but this will be their first ever match. Both men are surefire Hall of Famers when they hang up their boots. Both men have been world champion several times over. We know Brock is the mayor of suplex city but it only takes one RKO 2. Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor has the making of what could be the feud of 2016. After the company’s surprise decision to catapult Baylor to the top tier immediately upon his arrival, the former NXT champion is set to face Rollins for the brand-new WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam. Win or lose, Finn Baylor is a major player on the main roster now. The internet darlings will mark out hard over this match. Both have incredible indies following. Many feels giving the new title to Balor would be too soon. I believe a Finn win, would be best for business. 3. Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler: It’ll be an all-Ohio battle for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam after Dolph punched his ticket on Smackdown Live. For the last few years , Dolph Ziggler has been the definition of the word jobber. His rivalry with Rusev was a complete disaster and didn’t make anybody involved look good. More recently, he feuded with Corbin, which started out strong but fizzled the longer it went on. Now the wrestling fans get what they want, a real Ziggler push. 4. John Cena vs AJ Styles: John Cena will once again square off with the Phenomenal AJ Styles. This time, it will be at one of the biggest stages of them all, SummerSlam. Cena vs Styles has a match of the year candidate written all over it. It may even top Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn which occurred at the BattleGround pay per view just last month. This time, Styles claims he will be all by himself without the help from his buddies from Japan, The Club. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are now on Raw and will have their hands full with the New Day at SummerSlam. This match could have headlined a Wrestlemania, but because SummerSlam is so stacked, it’s will serve as a reminder of how big John Cena and AJ Styles really are as cornerstone wrestlers. 5. NXT Takeover: Back To Brooklyn: SummerSlam isn’t just a one-day event. Like WrestleMania, NXT usually rolls out a Takeover special. After the much successful NXT Takeover Brooklyn last year, NXT is returning back to Brooklyn. Samoa Joe will defend the NXT Championship against the “King of strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura. Both men are workhorses and it should be an intense match. In a rematch from NXT TakeOver: Dallas, Women’s Champion Asuka will defend the title against the former champ, Bayley. With three weeks until NXT Takeover: Back To Brooklyn, expect the rest of the card to take shape within the next two weeks.
