HockeyFlyers trade Anthony Stolarz for Cam Talbot by Evan Watson February 16, 2019 The trade is one for one.TRADE ALERT: The #Flyers have acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Anthony Stolarz. https://t.co/mzPANUwVSG— Philadelphia Flyers (@NHLFlyers) February 16, 2019Talbot, a pending UFA, is in a sub-par situation in Edmonton. Fletcher and the Flyers could be hoping a change of scenery brings him back to 2016-17, where he finished fourth in Vezina voting. The Oilers needed to move his salary to allow returning players off the injured reserve.Stolarz, also a pending free agent, will be given a chance to succeed elsewhere. The Flyers have great organizational depth at the position, and he wasn’t in the team’s future plans.Carter Hart will get to play 1A and 1B with a mentor of his in Talbot. The question remains: what do the Flyers do with goaltenders Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth?Once Talbot suits up for Philadelphia, the team will set an all-time NHL record for most goaltenders used in a single season. He’s the eighth one.
