Basketball Former Knicks Great Charles Oakley Takes Shots at Charles Barkley Over Lebron James Critic by Jason Cordner January 31, 2017 Just hours after LeBron James blasted TNT analyst Charles Barkley, calling the Hall of Fame forward a “hater” and criticizing his troubled past, Charles Oakley—who fought Barkley during a ’96 preseason game, chimed in. Although Oakley’s rival with Barkley has lasted more than a decade, the 53-year-old still feels that Sir Charles runs his mouth too damn much. “He just talks too much at the wrong times. He’s a spoiled kid,” Oakley, who was born and raised in Cleveland, told Sirius XM NBA Radio. “You’re from Alabama, you should have more home training. He’s one of them kids, say he’s from south side Chicago, but he got a ride to school every day. He ain’t walk down the block, down the corner. He got dropped off, the principal brung him back home.” Oakley once pimp slapped Barkley at an NBA players union meeting. No surprise here. Imagine if Oak did stop by the TNT set during All-Star weekend and he and Barkley came face to face? It All Began With The King LeBron James is one of the most highly criticized athletes of our era and he has remained relatively quiet in terms of clapping back at his highly vocal detractors. That has come to an end as James told ESPN he is tired of Charles Barkley. “I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James told ESPN. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying. “All I’ve done for my entire career is represent the NBA the right way. Fourteen years, never got in trouble. Respected the game. Print that.” Barkley and the NBA on TNT crew will be back on the air Thursday night. He will have a lot to talk about for sure.
