The New York Liberty unveiled its latest roster move by re-signing forward Swin Cash for the 2016 season. Team President Isiah Thomas made it clear that he cherishes Cash as a team leader and ambassador for New York off the court.

As Isiah is now publicly confirmed as the man who will manage the talent, he knows quality is to be retained. “Swin is an outstanding leader and fierce competitor,” Thomas proclaimed. “Swin helps establish expectations on the court and in the locker room.”

The three-time WNBA champion and four-time All-Star who will be playing in her 15th season, is one of most accomplished athletes in WNBA History. A part of her appeared to be preparing for life after basketball as she served as studio analyst and host of the New York Knicks program “Nothing but Knicks.”

“I appreciate the organization’s incredible support on and off the court, both personally and professionally,” exclaimed Cash.

But one senses that Swin wants to end her career on top. Though she has not intimated that this is her last year, she knows time is short and nothing is to be taken for granted.

“I am truly excited to be returning to the New York Liberty this season,” Swin responded to the news. “I look forward to building on last season with all my amazing teammates, coaches, staff, and fans.”

The Liberty will be starting their 20th season in search of that elusive first championship on Saturday, May 14, in Washington and on May 15, they will open the home portion of the schedule against the former Tulsa Shock, now Dallas Wings, at 5pm in Madison Square Garden.
