College Frostburg State Snaps Kean Win Streak, Spoil Homecoming For Cougars by Lou Monaco October 3, 2016 (Photo by Tom Horak – Double G Media) The Kean University football team wishes it could have that fourth quarter back Saturday. Jamaal Morant, who had 17 carries for 80 yards, had a 2-yard touchdown run with 13:54 left in the fourth quarter and it proved to be enough to lift Frostburg State to a 25-18 victory over Kean during its Homecoming at Alumni Stadium in Union, New Jersey. Kean (3-2, 2-2 NJAC) saw its three-game win streak snapped. Frostburg State (3-1) improved to 2-1 in the NJAC. Junior kicker Aryeh Moslavi kicked two field goals of 35 and 28 yards for Kean’s lone scoring in the first half en route to a 17-6 halftime disadvantage. In the second half, junior running backs D’Wan McCrary and Brian Matthews rushed for two touchdowns from one and five yards out respectively to power Kean to an 18-17 lead at the end of the third quarter, but the Cougars were unable to score in the fourth quarter. Junior quarterback Charles App completed 17 of 33 passes for 253 yards with no TDs or interceptions, Matthews had a team-high five receptions for 31 yards, and freshman wide receiver Jordan Smith added four catches for a team-high 78 yards for the Cougars, which will entertain a bye week this week before returning to Alumni Stadium to host Wesley College on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. Senior linebacker Stephan Lewis led the Cougars defense with 10 tackles and senior defensive back David Coleman, Jr. added eight with one interception.
