Kenny Britt (Tom Gannam/Associated Press) After releasing veteran and fan favorite Victor Cruz this week, the New York Giants find themselves in need of wide receiver help. The Giants will be looking for someone to step in as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr and Sterling Shepard. There may be a few internal options, but you can expect the General Manager Jerry Reese to shop the free agent market for a good deal. The free agent class does provide some interesting options, one being Kenny Britt, who has spent his eight-year career with the Tennessee Titans and St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. Britt, a former star at Rutgers, is coming off his best statistical season to date. With Beckham and Shepard both standing under 6-foot, the Giants could look for some size at the key offensive position. Britt would bring that immediate size advantage at 6-foot-3, 223-pounds. Britt, 28, has dealt with quarterback inconsistencies in during his time with the Titans and Rams, so seeing what he can do with a veteran star like Eli Manning could be intriguing to many teams around the league. 2016-17 was Britt’s best season, finishing with 68 catches for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns. It was the first 1,000 yard season of his career. Britt became the first Rams receiver since Torry Holt in 2007 to reach the mark. Britt should be reasonable affordable as Spotrac has his market value at three years, $20 million. Inconsistent play has been an issue in his career, but again, all with Rams quarterbacks. Britt has always been thought to have the physical tools and talent to succeed in the NFL. He also has had some legal issues early in his career, but his maturity seems to have grown since. A big, physical wide receiver would be a nice fit in the Giants offense. Kenny Britt would be that guy. A Jersey guy, born in Bayonne, would Britt be intrigued by the idea of returning home?
