Baseball Gleyber Torres and Gary Sanchez continue to torture Gary Thorne (and the O’s) by Chris Passarelli May 23, 2019 Just an amazing call by Gary Thorne. As close to Harry Doyle as I’ve ever heard, and that includes Uecker. pic.twitter.com/zZSzUuk1nk — Chris Carlin (@ChrisCarlin) May 23, 2019 Way back, up and *Gary Thorne dies inside* I dont even know. goodbye. home run. i mean… last two at bats he's hit home runs numbers 11 and 12 on the season and now has TEN HOME RUNS against the Orioles this year" pic.twitter.com/w5jIURHlu7 — Jomboy (@Jomboy_) May 23, 2019 If Gary Thorne hasn’t made it abundantly clear during his Oriole broadcasts, he can’t wait for the Yankees to leave town. After another night where Gleyber Torres and Gary Sanchez combined for three home runs, Thorne was beside himself trying to figure out how to pitch to them. At one point he even stated the O’s should just walk Torres every time he comes up to bat How dominant have the duo of Torres and Sanchez been against Baltimore? Well let’s put it this way;. Torres has 12 home runs total this season and 10 of them have come against the Orioles. Sanchez has 15 and 9 have come against them. It’s almost unfathomable to think that the two Stars have been that good against one team. The Orioles by all accounts will be one of the worst teams in MLB history. However, their futility should not take away from the incredible run Gleyber Torres and Gary Sanchez have been on.
