College Hale Center Renovations Coming by Staff Post June 19, 2015 The Hale Center, located on Busch Campus of Rutgers in Piscataway attached to High Point Solutions Stadium, will undergo upgrades according to the “Rutgers University Physical Master Plan Rutgers 2030” released at the universities’ Board of Governors meeting yesterday. An artist’s rendition of proposed improvements to the Hale Center at Rutgers University. (Rutgers University) The Hale Center is currently home to academic and administrative services, as well as training facilities for football, tennis, golf, and lacrosse. According to scarletknights.com, the Center has a “14, 262 foot weight room, a 60-yard FieldTurf track, interactive digital classrooms, computer lab, video room and 150-seat theater for use for game preparation and academics. The state-of-the-art room (has) the latest medical equipment and a wet room with hot and cold tubs and a Hydroworks treadmill.” As part of this newly released master plan, the Hale Center will be used exclusively for football, while the other programs move to the south-end zone of High Point Solutions Stadium. In order to compete in the vaunted Big Ten Conference, the Hale Center will get upgraded football locker rooms and student lounge, expanded sport medicine, a new training and hydro therapy suite, additional coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, and an expanded academic center, according to the plan. The Hale Center will have a brand new entry way, for a bigger Rutgers football Hall of Fame. It will also be easily accessible from the stadium. These enhancements will hopefully attract recruits. “We’re Big Ten and it’s time for us to step up on every level,” Rutgers Athletic Director Julie Hermann said. “Our athletic department is a big part of the brand of our total university so we have to step up. That’s includes the physical spaces and places that our student-athletes train and work.” While there is an exciting plan that is out in the open to dream about, donor support and fundraising is what will make it become a reality. You can find extensive write-ups here provided by NJ.com of the 18-page plan for all athletics from baseball, to tennis, to basketball and beyond.
