Boxing Heavyweight Showdown: Wilder v. Breazeale Preview Will Wilder’s words come to fruition, or will Breazeale shock the world? by Daniel Yanofsky May 18, 2019 Brooklyn, NY is the place to be tonight, as two heavyweights head into a war against one another. Deontay Wilder will be defending the WBC World Title against Dominic Breazeale. The main event begins at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime, courtesy of Premier Boxing Champions. A personal bout, these two are not shy when talking about one another. Wilder (40-0-1) himself has pulled a Mike Tyson and stated Breazeale (20-1) won’t walk out of Barclays alive. The bad blood stems from an attack on Wilder’s brother. This is how the Showtime/PBC- produced fight will be promoted. Will Wilder’s emotions end up getting the best of him? Only time will tell in this battle. Does it mean anything if one opponent (Wilder) looks much more ready for a fight physically than their opponent? Not always. However, Wilder now weighs an extra ten pounds more than he did at the Tyson Fury fight. Speed and agility is Wilder’s game. With someone as lean as Breazeale, Wilder’s gameplan can be altered, although it may not deter him from picking up the win. The last time Wilder was inside the Barclays, he put on an absolute classic against Luis Ortiz. One thing to notice was Wilder’s lack of urgency. He looks for the knockout blow but does so wildly. That is what gave Ortiz the advantage in the middle rounds. If Breazeale wants to beat the champion he must do so in a creative manner. Play like Wilder plays and you can easily match yourself well against him. Breazeale plays it close but is his calm demeanor just an act? If so, he will be aggressive from the get-go, sabotaging himself. With a win, Wilder is in the driver’s seat for a potential Fury rematch or Anthony Joshua clash. It may not be easy, but Wilder’s overall skills can outclass Breazeale’s. Prediction: Wilder via KO (round seven) Post Views: 991 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc. Sports Editor.
