CollegeHofstra Men win first game of season after slow start by Chris Passarelli November 10, 2018 Well the first eight minutes of the game weren’t pretty, but the Hofstra men’s basketball team was able to beat Mount St. Mary’s 79-61. The score is misleading, as Hofstra was dominated nearly the entire first half. The Pride were down 16-1 in the opening minutes before being able to rally and take hold of the game.Hofstra was led by Senior Justin Wright-Foreman, who scored 20 and added five assists. Desure Buie and Eli Pemberton also added 18 points in a decisive Pride victory. The turning point of the game was the 13-1 run Hofstra went to end the first half. They went into the half up 31-28 and never looked back.Hofstra got off on the right foot, but have another tough test on Sunday when they travel to Marshall. The game starts at 2:30 PM.
