College Hofstra Women’s Basketball Coach Resigns by Will Wiegelman March 27, 2019 The Hofstra Pride women’s basketball team will have a new coach next season. After 13 seasons, Krista Kilburn-Steveskey is stepping down after 13 seasons with the program. Kilburn-Steveskey holds the Hofstra women’s basketball record for wins with a 211-187 record during her tenure and led the Pride to five WNIT appearances. Most recently, the Pride upset number one seed James Madison in the CAA tournament. She stated that she wants, “to step away and focus on my family” and that she is, “grateful to have worked with wonderful people and coach so many talented student-athletes during my time here.” Hofstra Athletic Director Rick Cole thanked Kilburn-Steveskey, “We thank her immensely for her tireless work on behalf of our student-athletes and our women’s basketball program,” and praised her for her time at Hofstra “Krista has been an incredible leader of our women’s basketball program for the past 13 years.” The Pride will likely conduct a long coaching search and consider all possibilities before next season.
