Baseball Hot Bats Propel Fireflies To Win by Staff Post June 10, 2016 Columbia, SC – On the Purple Game, Purple Game night the Columbia Fireflies started out and didn’t look back as the overtook the West Virgina Power 11-2. Kevin Kaczmarski scored an RBI in the first, and two more followed from the Fireflies giving the team an early 3-0 lead. Chase Ingram took home the win in the first game of the series as he put in six innings of work giving up four hits, and just one run while striking out six, ultimately bringing his ERA to 4.64 on the season. The Power didn’t score until the fourth when Ingram gave up the only run he would during his outing. It wouldn’t be enough though as the Fireflies scored 2 in the sixth, 1 in the seventh, and finally, five in the eighth to put the nail in the coffin. The Fireflies return tonight to Spirit Communications Park for game two of the series as the impressive P.J. Conlon (7.1, 1.21 ERA) takes the mound for Fearless SC Fridays as the Fireflies look to win their second consecutive game. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM ET.
