Soccer If You Are Hungry, Eat; RedBulls defeat Toronto FC by Maria-Isabelle P. August 5, 2019 Harrison, New Jersey – The New York RedBulls were hungry to win, and they ate well. Two goals scored and zero against meant another win for the RedBulls. The temperature felt hotter than expected at the stadium, but it was well worth the price of admission. The home team won against Toronto FC, even though it was a tough first half. Rece Buckmaster, who made his first career MLS appearance admitted: “I was for sure nervous” he continued, “it was a though (first) half, but it got better in the second half, I thought so. I feel better.” He’s not wrong, as during the second half, the New York RedBulls had more possession of the ball and created various opportunities on goal. The clearest chance was the penalty kick by Daniel Royer, who was disappointed after missing. It was shocking because, until Saturday, he had been eight for eight in PKs. The team kept pressing and eventually found their goals. At the end of the game, the locker room and press conference atmosphere was different from last week, and how could it not be? They’re now third in the Eastern Conference When asked Chris Armas spoke about what was said during half time that led to change the game completely during the second half; “We talked about being a little bit more tighter, and that we needed to stick to it. Believe it and really go all the way” then he added, “we saw on the first half the spaces were just too big” According to Armas, Cristian Casseres adds a lot of “energy” to the team. “He is aggressive. He is fearless. We need bolder.” Armas said. A tough game is coming ahead. Los Angeles Football Club is their next opponent. New York Red Bulls Head Coach, Chris Armas knows what his team is heading into, but he assured to “have a plan” “They are the top team of the league,” said Armas, “they are built-in possession” but he added, “we have a plan” New York RedBulls will face Los Angeles Football Club on August 11 in California.
