Imani Dorsey Soccer Imani Dorsey Voted 2018 National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year Dorsey is the second player from Sky Blue FC to earn Rookie of the Year honors after Raquel Rodriguez won the award in the 2016 season. by Max Kalmes September 27, 2018 Imani Dorsey, forward for Sky Blue FC, was selected as the NWSL Rookie of the Year for the 2018 season. Dorsey, 22, has proven herself worthy of the title throughout her exceptional rookie season with Sky Blue FC with having scored four goals and adding one assist in her 13 appearances on field. Dorsey racked up 1,047 playing minutes and within that time, created 11 chances with 16 shots on target. She is also noted for her passing accuracy of 74.4%. Dorsey surpassed other Rookie of the Year nominees in the voting results by nearly double by the media and club voters with 39.2% and 55.6% of the results. Sky Blue FC selected Dorsey fifth overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft after she completed her athletic and academic career at Duke University. Her first NWSL appearance was on June 8th with Sky Blue FC against Washington Spirit.
