Injury Update on NY Ranger Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist

Henrik Lundqvist, starting goaltender of the NY Rangers suffered a vascular injury playing against the Carolina Hurricane, which has been pinpointed as a sprained blood vessel. Lundqvist will be out of action for three weeks and then re-evaluated. He is on an aspirin regiment and can engage in some light cardio bike workout.

He was informed by the Rangers medical staff that playing with this injury before it heals completely, can cause a stroke.

He may be able to do some light skating after he is re-evaluated.

He could be out three weeks, four weeks or more; it depends entirely on how he heals and what the doctors find when he is re-evaluated.
