In a business that was built on characters that are larger than life, Shawn Daivari defied the odds for the smaller athlete with giant dreams. Considered by many as one of the most underrated talents in the last decade, not only did Daivari have an uphill battle to making his dreams a reality based on his size, but he also faced many challenges due to his ethnicity – as the pro wrestling world immediately exploited him as an anti-American villain and capitalizing on the 9/11 tragedies. In this interview, Shawn Daivari discusses his experiences as a smaller performer, as antagonist performer, and most of all as a performer of a young man worked hard to achieve his dreams and share the ring with his childhood heroes.
