Iowa Defeats Boston College in 2017 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, 27-20

The Boston College Eagles and Iowa Hawkeyes faced off in the 2017 New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, NY on Wednesday evening. Iowa was looking to end a five-game bowl losing streak while Boston College was looking to cap off a great season with a win.

The lone touchdown in the first quarter came with five seconds left when Boston College running back AJ Dillon found the end zone from four yards out. The score was 7-3 after one quarter of play.

Iowa took the lead back when Nathan Stanley found Noah Fant on an eight-yard connection. A 39 yard touchdown pass from Darius Wade to Tommy Sweeney gave BC a 14-10 lead. The Eagles would add a field goal and they took a 17-10 lead into the locker room.

Iowa would tie the game with a five-yard rushing touchdown from Akrum Wadley. That would be the lone score of the third quarter. The game was tied at 17 headed into the fourth quarter.

With just over three minutes left and the game tied at 20, Iowa fullback Drake Kulick rushed for a one-yard touchdown. An interception by Joshua Jackson with 1:18 left would clinch the game.

Iowa would go on to win by a final score of 27-20. The Hawkeyes snap their five game bowl losing streak and finish the season with eight wins.
