It was the Tyler Boyd Show as USA takes down Guyana to Open Gold Cup Play

St Paul, MN: The 2019 Gold Cup got started for the US Men’s National Team led by coach Gregg Berhalter as they took on Guyana from Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota on Tuesday Night. The USMNT is the defending Gold Cup Champions as they won the Gold Cup in 2017.

Early in the first half, the USMNT would have some good scoring chances but they just could not get it in the back of the net. The USMNT would open the scoring in the 28th minute on a nice goal from Paul Arriola.

Fox Sports:

The USA would take a 1-0 lead into halftime and now the question is could the USMNT keep the pressure on Guyana and give something for the fans to believe in this team.

In the second half, the USA would come out and just make things very difficult for Guyana and they would make them pay.

The USMNT would make it 2-0 on the first career goal for Tyler Boyd in the 51st minute

Fox Sports:

The second goal for the USA would turn out to be a milestone one as it would be the 1,000 all-time goal for the US Men’s National Team.

Four minutes later, the USMNT strikes to make it 3-0 in the 55th minute as it had a very strange bounce which ended with Gyasi Zardes scoring.

Fox Sports:

Tyler Boyd would have one of those games that you would always remember as he would burry home his second goal of the game in the 81st minute as the USMNT extended their lead to 4-0.

Fox Sports:

The US Men’s National Team would have no issues in this game as they win 4-0 over Guyana and now are at top of Group D and will look to go 2-0 as they take on  Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday at 8 PM on FS1  from FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, OH.

This was the type of game that the USMNT needed to get the nasty taste out of their mouth from an embarrassing 2017 which showed them failing to make the 2018 World Cup and now leading to the shakeup of the entire team.
