It’s Déjà vu all over again as BlueClaws and Greensboro play 10

For the second night in a row the Lakewood BlueClaws and Greensboro Shorebirds needed more than nine innings to settle the score.

The Shorebirds won the extra inning event 5-4 when Aaron Knapp singled home the decisive run, scoring BJ Lopez.  The win gave the Shorebirds the deciding game of the three-game series.

The BlueClaws didn’t go down quietly, loading the bases in the bottom of the tenth.  But Shorebird closer Manny Rodriguez gritted his way to yield a fly out and ground ball to shut down the BlueClaws rally.

The Claws are back on the road Thursday to start a four-game series with Delmarva.

Lakewood hands the ball over to lefty Will Stewart (2-0) to open the series. Delmarva counters with another southsider Cameron Bishop.
