Due to a leak on the internet, it has been revealed that former WWE diva and well respected legend Jacqueline Moore will be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame class.

I think this is a perfect year for Jacqueline to be inducted. Being a proud Texas native and making a name for herself on the Texas indy circuit in the early nineties would make the memories of her career come full circle. Receiving that applause and recognition in front of her home crowd.

Starting her journey in World Class Championship Wrestling, under the name ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’ in 1988, Jacqueline made a mark in the business and was offered opportunities to work for companies like Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling in Japan, Ladies Professional Wrestling Association and Women’s Pro Wrestling early on.

In ’97, Jacqueline made her debut in WCW as Kevin Sullivan’s manager. She had a short stint of managing Harlem Heat and participated in a feud with male wrestler Disco Inferno. Any one watching Jacqueline knew that she had talent, but she wasn’t given the opportunity to really spread her wings in the organization. That’s when she got a call that changed her career.

Beloved commentator and at the time the WWE’s talent relations guy, Jim Ross contacted Jacqueline and offered her a deal with the company. The women’s division was going through a transitional period, and I believe that Jacqueline was brought in to add some legitimacy to the women’s title when it was resurrected in ’98. She started off with an awesome feud against Sable.

Jacqueline hit the ball out the park with her great heel tactics alongside Marc Mero and lethal wrestling skills that put the odds against Sable, to really sell her as an underdog and true babyface in the rivalry. I know that as I a kid, I couldn’t wait to see these two women go at it. Of course, I didn’t care for the bikini contest at Fully Loaded 1998 but when they actually competed in a match at Summerslam that year, I knew that I was a Jackie fan. Those martial arts kicks and the agile swiftness applied to each move left me in awe. Needless to say, as WWE continued to grow their women’s division Jacqueline was a fixture in the group of talented women during the Attitude Era. She was a two time WWE women’s champion and also was the third woman to hold the cruiserweight championship. She has a lot to be proud of when it comes to her run in WWE.

I also enjoyed her feuds in TNA. Gail Kim was a great opponent for Jacqueline’s style of wrestling and these two really took it to each other, every time they met up. Managing James Storm was some of the most entertaining segments that I’ve watched in TNA. Do yourself a favor and check out “James Storm goes into an AA meeting” on Youtube. It’s hilarious. ODB and Jackie as tag team partners in 2011 was a natural fit in my opinion. The chemistry between the two was automatic. I wish I could’ve seen more of that.

To say that Jacqueline is deserving of that Hall of Fame ring is an understatement.

She has busted her butt for decades now, proving that there are women in the business who can deliver on the same level as the man and bring a high level of athleticism to wrestling that can’t be denied. Congratulations Jacqueline. I can’t wait to hear your induction speech. Take your time on the stage because a wrestler like you deserves another moment in the spotlight!
