Jamaica takes down USA in International Friendly

Washington DC: We are two weeks away from the start of the 2019 Gold Cup and all the teams are putting the final touches on their rosters and that is what we have on Wednesday Night as USA took on Jamaica in an International Friendly from Audi Field in Washington DC. Audi Field opened last year and is the home of DC United of MLS.

The game was Live on FS1 with John Strong & Stu Holden calling the action

In the first half, Both teams would have some good scoring chances but USA Goalie Zack Steffen & Jamaica Goalie Andre Blake were up for the test.

Later in the first half, The USA would have some good scoring chances, they almost scored to end the first half

This game would be scoreless at halftime.

Early in the second half, it would be some of what you saw in the first half but the USA would get more pressure on the goalie but could not put it home.

Jamaica would make the USA Pay as they would open the scoring on a laser of a shot by Shamar Nicholson in the 60th minute for the 1-0 lead.

Late in the second half, the USA would put pressure on Jamaica goalie Andre Blake to tie the game but would miss the net by inches

A Crowd of 17,719 would see Jamaica come to Washington DC and take down USA 1-0 and in the process give the first loss to USA Coach Gregg Berhalter.

The USA now have to get their 23 man roster set for the Gold Cup, the USA begins their Gold Cup Journey on June 18 when they take on Guyana from Allianz Field in Saint Paul, MN.
