Jarrell Miller, Claressa Shields highlight a stacked Matchroom Boxing card on DAZN in November

Eddie Hearn stated that there was no limit to which he would expand Matchroom Boxing’s presence in the United States. He is continuing that quest, heading to The Sunflower State. Exclusively on DAZN, Kansas will house a night of some of the best fighters in the world.

Two Brooklyn stars are aiming to continue their hot streaks. Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will look to add more gold to his collection, as he faces off against Bogdan Dinu for the WBA Heavyweight Title. On the other side, Claressa Shields, one of the most successful young fighters in the game today, will defend her IBF, WBA and WBC World Middleweight Titles against Hannah Rankin. The event will on November 17 at the Kansas Star Arena and Casino in Mulvane, Kansas.

Miller (22-0-1) is looking to prove he is the best heavyweight in boxing today, even without going through Deontay Wilder. Always one to make any moment count, Miller had a dominant second-round TKO win against Tomasz Adamek on October 6. The quick turnaround is something he doesn’t seem worried about. In fact, he looks to take advantage of the extra training he has put through in order to beat Dinu (18-0) and capture another title.

While only 23, Claressa Shields (6-0) is quickly rising up the ranks in the boxing world. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Shields is already racking up gold in the middleweight division. She is set to face off against Hannah Rankin (5-2), who is looking to get back in the win column. Her last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Alicia Napoleon for the WBA World Female Super Middleweight Title back in August on Long Island. The fight inside the Nassau Coliseum, which wasn’t televised, was considered the best bout of the night.

This will be the third fight planned for Shields in the past few months. She was originally supposed to face Christina Hammer in Atlantic City, but Hammer pulled out due to illness. Never one to pull punches, especially on social media, Shields is expecting Rankin to be at her best. It appears that shouldn’t be a problem for the latter.

Not only are those two bouts planned, but there will also be some dominant lightweight and middleweight battles. In the former division, Brandon Rios (34-4-1) will face off against Ram0n Alvarez (27-6-3). While quiet, these two pack a nasty punch in their arsenal. A win by either could propel them to world title contention.

In the middleweight division, Luis Arias is coming back from a year+ absence to face Gabriel Rosado. Arias (18-1, 1 NC) lost to Daniel Jacobs back in November of 2017. Before that, he was on a ten-fight win streak. One of the best trash-talkers in boxing today, Arias will have to match his wit with his skills inside the ring. His opponent in Rosado (24-11) can snap right back, on both sides of the coin. 2-2 in his last four fights, and at one point on a four-bout winless streak, this is a must-win for the 32-year-old in order to stay in the loop with the best the division has to offer.
