Football JPP calls game against Eagles a “Must Win” Philadelphia hosts New York at 1pm on Sunday by Gregg Snyder September 22, 2017 The New York Giants are 0-2 and in need of a win this Sunday when they travel down the Turnpike to battle the NFC East division rival, Philadelphia Eagles. It’s not been a pretty start to the season for Big Blue on either side of the ball. Offensively, the Giants have been atrocious. Defensively, they have not look as dominant as many believe they would be this season. They are certainly not a Super Bowl caliber defense after two weeks. Fans, coaches, players, everyone knows it. It’s hard to call an early season game a must-win, but starting 0-3 in the very competitive NFC East, would give the Giants a large mountain to climb if they have any type of postseason hopes. On Friday, defensive end Justin Pierre-Paul had just that to say about Sundays game. “Honestly, it’s a must-win game,” said Pierre-Paul. “We know we need this game. It’s a division game. I don’t see us going 0-3.” Despite the sluggish start, the JPP and the Giants remain confident. Is this the week they turn things around? It won’t be an easy task. The Eagles have looked like a much improved squad during their 1-1 start this season. They beat up on the Washington Redskins in the season opener before falling in a close game to the Kansas City Chiefs. Much of the Eagles improvement stems from quarterback Carson Wentz. The second year pro looks more comfortable and in control of the offense. “He’s a very good quarterback,” said JPP when asked what he sees in Wentz. “Very athletic. So, I know I’m going to be chasing him around this week probably a lot.” What do the Giants need to do in order to begin straightening things out? It starts on the lines, both offensively and defensively. They need to dominate and control the game. “We just all need to come together,” said Pierre-Paul. “Offense needs to come together. Everybody sees it, but at the same time, we have to help them too as well. We just have to ball and get in and play some great football.” “When you play football, it starts up front,” continued Pierre-Paul. “It starts with the defensive line. It starts with the offensive line. So, we have to play our best on the defensive line. Offensive line has to play their best. So, they’re going to come out and do good this week.” The Giants may try to up the tempo a bit more to help the line get in a groove. “All this week has been just rushing to the ball because we’re putting an emphasis on it,” JPP explained. “So, I think they get the picture.” Post Views: 1,517 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Gregg Snyder Latest posts by Gregg Snyder (see all) ITZ Staff Makes Super Bowl LV Predictions.
