College Kean Ends Regular Season By Beating Rival Montclair State by Lou Monaco November 12, 2016 (Photo by Double G Media) The Kean University football team ended its regular season on a high note and now await ECAC Bowl selections on Monday to see if they are post-season bound. Senior defensive back Austin Davis had a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter and senior defensive back David Coleman added a 30-yard interception return for another score in the second to lift Kean to a 20-10 victory over conference rival Montclair State Saturday at Alumni Stadium in Union. For the second straight season, the Cougars (6-4, 5-4 NJAC) won over all state-based and original members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Junior kicker Aryeh Moslavi kicked two field goals in the second half, a 33-yarder in the third quarter and an 18-yarder in the fourth to cap Kean’s scoring. John DiStefano had a 2-yard TD run in the second quarter for Montclair State (4-6, 3-6 NJAC) to cut Kean’s lead to 14-7 at halftime. Junior linebacker Darin Hungerford recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including 4 ½ for loss and 2 ½ sacks, with a fumble recovery and Coleman added seven tackles with an interception for Kean.
