College Kean Wins Third Straight, 24-13 Over William Paterson by Lou Monaco September 25, 2016 (Photo by Double G Media) Junior quarterback Charles App threw for a touchdown and ran for another and junior defensive back Vaughn Scott opened the game with a 28-yard interception return for a score to lead Kean University to a 24-13 victory over conference foe William Paterson at Wightman Stadium in Wayne, New Jersey. Kean (3-1, 2-1 NJAC) has won three straight games, including two on the road, and heads back to start October with three of its next four games at home, highlighted by Homecoming Saturday versus Frostburg State with a scheduled kickoff at 1 p.m. App threw a 7-yard TD pass to sophomore tight end Kyle Rooney just 25 seconds into the second quarter to take a 14-7 lead with 14:35 remaining, a lead that would never relinguish. App added a 1-yard TD run with 6:54 remaining in the second quarter en route to a 21-10 halftime lead and junior Aryeh Moslavi kicked a 24-yard field goal with 12:10 left in the fourth quarter to complete Kean’s scoring. App completed 10 of 19 passes for 143 yards while junior running back Brian Matthews had a huge game on the ground with 39 carries for 151 yards. Senior wide receiver LeRon Dillard added four catches for 67 yards for Kean, which sits only in third place in the latest New Jersey Athletic Confernce standings. Again, the Cougars defense was strong as senior linebacker Stephan Lewis and junior linebacker Darin Hungerford each had 11 tackles. The Pioneers (1-2, 0-2 NJAC) were led by junior quarterback James Waldron, who completed 14 of 30 passes for 127 yards with a costly interception, and senior wide receiver Anthony DiMarsico had an all-around complete game, completing 5 of 8 passes for 111 yards with one TD, caught seven passes for 71 yards, and rushed 10 times for 30 yards.
