Knights In The NFL – Week 10

Rookie cornerback Devin McCourty is the Double G Sports Knight of the Week. McCourty and the New England Patriots traveled to Pittsburgh and battled the Steelers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Week 10 in the NFL saw some dramatic endings as well as a handful of upsets. A week after many had byes, most of your former Scarlet Knights were back in action.

Rookie cornerback Devin McCourty is the Double G Sports Knight of the Week. McCourty and the New England Patriots traveled to Pittsburgh and battled the Steelers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. New England won the game 39-26 and McCourty made his presence known by making 11 tackles and a pass deflection.

Ray Rice and the Baltimore Ravens got the week started against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. The Ravens and Falcons are two of the best teams in the NFL this season. Baltimore fell to Atlanta 26-21. Rice had 12 carries for 59 yards for the Ravens. He also caught three passes for 43 yards.

Long snapper Ryan Neill remains on IR for the San Diego Chargers.

New York Giants center Shaun O’Hara did not play in the teams’ 33-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. O’Hara has been nursing a foot injury all season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off a thrilling 31-24 win over the Houston Texans. Courtney Greene started in the Jacksonville secondary and recorded seven tackles in the win. Kevin Haslam saw some time on the Jaguars’ offensive line and wide receiver Tiquan Underwood played but did not record any stats.

Jamaal Westerman was back on the field for the New York Jets after being inactive the past couple weeks. Westerman recorded one tackle in the Jets 26-20 overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah did not play in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-16 win over the Carolina Panthers. Zuttah had started the previous four games.

Three of four former Scarlet Knights were in action as the Indianapolis Colts battled the Cincinnati Bengals. Colts linebacker Gary Brackett missed the game with a nagging toe injury. His teammate, Eric Foster recorded a sack for the second straight game. He also made three tackles in the Colts 23-17 win. 

Clark Harris handled the long snapping duties for Cincinnati and Brian Leonard saw time in the Bengals backfield. Leonard got one carry but made the most of it. The running back ran 42 yards on his lone carry. He also caught two passes for a total of eight yards in the loss.

Rookie offensive tackle Anthony Davis started for the San Francisco 49ers in their 23-20 win over the St. Louis Rams. On the other side of the field, Gary Gibson started on the defensive line for the Rams but did not record any stats.

Nate Jones recorded two tackles for the Denver Broncos in their 49-29 romp over the Kansas City Chiefs.

While wide receiver Kenny Britt missed the Tennessee Titans’ 29-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Jason McCourty did play. The cornerback recorded two tackles and a pass deflection. Britt is out with a hamstring injury and will miss significant time.
