La Salle's defense leads to victory over St. Bonaventure

Redshirt sophomore Jordan Price scored a game high 24 points to lead La Salle over St. Bonaventure (11-8, 4-4) 66-56. The Explorers got off to a slow start down by 8, but held the Bonnies to 33.9% shooting from the field and 11.1% from long range. A strong defensive effort from redshirt junior Khalid Lewis helped lead the Explorers. He held Marcus Posley, the Atlantic 10’s leading scorer to just four points, going 2-for-12 shooting.

The Bonnies went into the half up 29-27, but the strong defensive play and rebounding was too much for them. Senior Steve Zack grabbed 14 boards as Jerrell Wright had 6 rebounds with his 12 points. Cleon Roberts was a second leading scorer for the Explorers with 20 points.

La Salle improves to 12-9, 4-4 in the conference with their Saturday night victory. The Explorers will take on the Richmond Spiders at home on Thursday. Tip off begins at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcasted nationally on NBC Sports Network.
