Mayweather v. McGregor (The Independent)

We are officially one day away from Mayweather v. McGregor!

Before the show officially begins, the two fighters will have to participate in the ceremonial weigh-ins. The opponents will have to make the official fight weight of 154 pounds. Unlike MMA, there is no early morning weigh in. Although, 154 is the natural fight weight for McGregor and above-average weight for Mayweather. Time for hydration should be no issue for either fighter.

McGregor captured his first UFC championship at 145-pounds. This is the weight he debuted at in the UFC, but physically you could see the damage it was doing to his body. When he made his lightweight debut (155 lbs) with the promotion at UFC 205, he without a doubt looked his healthiest. He went on to become the first UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously.

Mayweather Jr. ranged in his career between super featherweight (126-130 lbs) up to light middleweight (154). The undefeated boxer competed three times in the 154-division. Notably against Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya.
