Lizards lose again in heartbreaker to Atlanta

The New York Lizards were trying to build momentum coming into their matchup with the Atlanta Blaze in Atlanta on Sunday but fell victim to a goal with just under a minute to go that sealed their fate.  Shayne Jackson scored for the Blaze with just 59 seconds to go in the game and the Lizards went on to lose 12-11 to the Blaze.

The Lizards drop to 1-5 while the Blaze went to 4-2 on the late goal.  Nick Aponte had a team high five points, including four goals and one assist.  Ryan Walsh and Rob Pannell scored twice for the Lizards.  Dylan Molloy had another excellent game, scoring once while adding three assists.  Goalie Austin Kaut made 10 saves on 22 shots.

The Lizards next play on Thursday against the Boston Cannons.  As previously mentioned, this is a “Camp Day” for all youth attending.  The game is at noon at Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University.
