(Photo via Seton Hall Men’s Golf Twitter) Junior Lloyd Jefferson Go turned in one of the most notable seasons in Seton Hall men’s golf history this year. By cutting his stroke average down by over two full strokes Go led the Big East conference with a 71.5 stroke average. Go was by far one of the most consistent players in the conference this season after earning top-10 finishes in nine of his 11 tournaments. The accolades were plentiful for Go after his remarkable season. First he was named a member of the All-Big East team, making him the first three-time All-Big East player in school history. But that wasn’t all, Go also took home the Big East Player of the Year award after becoming only the third Pirate to win the individual competition in the Big East Championship. His impressive Big East championship win was made possible by his second round score of 65, a course record at Callawassie Island. Go’s championship victory qualified him for the NCAA regional, marking the first time a Seton Hall player would be in the field since 2001 when the team qualified. Go played consistently at the regional and finished with scores of 76, 70, and 74, for a combined total of 4-over par 220. His three-day total of 220 was good for third place among the 10 individuals competing in the field. Only the top individual qualified to advance to the NCAA championship which will be held in Eugene, Oregon. That top spot belonged to Tee-K Kelly of Ohio State who completed his 54 holes in an impressive 209 shots, or 7-under par.
