MMA Long Island’s Gregor Gillespie v. Vinc Pichel added to UFC Utica Gillespie and Pichel are looking to extend their own streaks in an attempt to contend for the Lightweight Title by Daniel Yanofsky March 2, 2018 It is a four hour drive from Long Island to Utica. For Gregor Gillespie, the distance is worth a chance in extending his winning streak. He will face Vinc “From Hell” Pichel at UFC’s premier event in Utica. The Utica Observer-Dispatch was the first to report the fight. While not Goldberg-like, Gillespie’s (11-0) streak is pretty impressive. He won seven fights in a row before heading to the UFC in 2016. His last fight was in January at UFC on Fox 27, defeating Jordan Rinaldi via TKO. It was his fifth win via KO. A true force in the UFC’s lightweight division, it won’t be long until Gregor gets his opportunity to shine. While not undefeated, Vinc Pichel’s (11-1) streak certainly should not be overlooked. His last loss came at The Ultimate Fighter finale in 2012 against Rustam Khabilov. Since then, he’s won four in a row, his last fight a UD victory at UFC on Fox 27 against Joaquim Silva. As discussed earlier, Gillespie was also on that card, giving both fighters enough time to prepare. UFC Fight Night 131 will take place inside the Adirondack Bank Center on June 1 in Utica, NY. The main event will feature Jimmie Rivera going against Marlon Moraes. Tickets are expected to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6.
